Leading Global Bank is looking to recruit an investment banking professionals (Analysts, Associates and VPs) to work in its Oil and Gas Investment Banking Group in New York.
Chosen candidates are expected to work on both investment banking advisory business – chiefly M&A with some capital raising involved (approximately 70% of the time) as well as work on the Bank’s internal private equity effort devoted to the energy industry (approximately 30%). Overall responsibilities include helping to develop and strengthen client relationships, participate on advisory and capital-raising teams, and help to structure and execute an array of client and principal financial transactions. Functions will include collecting, analyzing and interpreting financial and market data; investigating, analyzing and structuring investment opportunities; developing and interpreting financial models; and performing asset and corporate valuations. The qualified individual must also have the ability to clearly articulate the analysis, findings and recommendations to internal and external clients.
• Must have an MBA from a top tier U.S. business school or two – three years experience as a financial analyst working in the Energy Investment Banking Group at a top tier investment bank or a private equity firm focused on the U.S. oil and gas industry. An emphasis on exploration and production (upstream) experience is preferred but not essential. In general, people with Power and Utilities experience will be considered; • Must have strong financial modeling skills with respect to reserve valuations, going concern valuations, accretion/dilution analysis and multiples analysis; • Must be an outstanding performer; • Must have excellent analytical and communication skills; • Must have demonstrated the ability to work with colleagues and clients at all levels; and • Must demonstrate superior initiative, motivation and leadership.
