The Associate, a key member of the Investment Team, will manage all stages of investment execution, due diligence, financial modeling, structuring, and post-transaction monitoring / management. Associates will work in a self-directed manner and should expect to handle a meaningful level of responsibility from the outset including:
?Following market trends, research sectors / companies, analyzing industry dynamics and gathering information on potential investments for the purpose of targeting opportunities and developing investment theses on companies. ?Screening investment opportunities, performing preliminary valuation and analysis. ?Developing and analyzing investment opportunities, creating and updating financial models, reviewing financial, company and industry information, performing detailed valuation analysis. ?Interacting with company management; coordinating with deal brokers and investment bankers. ?Conducting and managing the due diligence process including interviewing management teams, analyzing secondary research and performing primary research with industry participants, managing, liaising with and overseeing consultants, transaction service firms, legal firms and accountants. ?Assisting with drafting of term sheets and all transaction documentation.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of either private equity or other relevant transaction experience, which may include other principal expertise or investment banking in a transaction intensive group with exposure to private equity (i.e., financial sponsor coverage, M&A, leveraged finance). Candidates who have operated in a senior international mergers and acquisitions role within a large international corporation will also be considered. Other preferable qualifications include: ?4-7 years of total work experience. ?Experience with Emerging Markets related investments, or international equities / credit. ?Strong analytical skills, particularly in financial modeling and valuation and an ability to think creatively about valuation and analysis. ?Excellent proficiency in accounting, with near-forensic approach to navigating financial statements. ?Ability to analyze and assess corporate and financial structures, covenants, interest rates and other terms.
The Fund's strategy is to identify growth companies with strong management teams, and highly defensible market positions / unique business models. The Illiquids Business works closely with management teams of its portfolio companies. Our role is to support or lead, if needed, the effort to improve performance by providing both necessary capital and strategic guidance.
The Illiquids Business is broadly active in Latin America, Eastern Europe / Russia / CIS, South Asia / Middle East / Africa and Greater China. The fund is currently pursuing near term investment opportunities in China, Brazil, India, Mexico, Kazakhstan and Russia.
