Our Global Advisory client which has a large International Risk Mgmt practice is looking for people at the Mgr and Sr. Mgr level who have strong credit and operational risk technology implementation experience.
Responsibilities:
The Technology Manager will work directly with clients to provide solutions to clients’ business, process, and technology issues. The goal is to support our clients’ efforts to make their business units more effective and efficient and, where required, provide services in connection with the remediation and mitigation of process risk. Our experience is also important to the analysis of specific business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, infrastructure design, and vendor selection decisions that support the Finance and / or Risk organizations within our client firms.
In addition to managing project teams through all phases of the technology enablement life cycle, the (Senior) Manager lends specific subject matter knowledge to the design and integration phase of each project, helping to give specificity to the appropriate architecture, data model, and system design and interfacing requirements.
Manager will advise clients on a variety of services that help identify, assess, manage and measure the organization’s technology capabilities. This requires business process, organizational and technology capabilities and knowledge across several of the following focus areas:
§ Finance and / or Risk Strategy § Trading / Market Risk Technology § Enterprise / Reference Data Management & Data Warehousing § Financial Accounting and Reporting Operations/Technology § Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting Operations/Technology § Compliance Technology § General Ledger / ERP Systems Features/Functionality § Statutory Reporting Systems Features/Functionality § Enterprise Technology Expense Reduction
Requirements: To sell and deliver these comprehensive services, we are looking for individuals with:
• A minimum of 7 years of experience working in banking and capital markets (including consulting), with experience in enterprise or risk technology of the financial services industry, with at least 5 years spent in the managerial IT / Business Integration role. • Consulting experience in the banking and capital markets sector, including both sales and service delivery. • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a team of technology advisors through all phases of the technology lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, conversion, and testing. • Proven track record of developing and mentoring junior resources through the career progression. • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client servicing and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating financial product and process knowledge with technology skills. • Ability and comfort level researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies • Ability to generate new business opportunities by thoroughly understanding E&Y and its service lines and actively assessing and presenting ways to apply knowledge and services. Developing long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally. • Knowledge of leading practices, benchmarking, peer company environments and prior advisory experience relevant to industry-specific finance and technology functions • Executive presence, leadership and command to interact and communicate effectively with Finance, Risk and Technology senior and middle management executives • Hands on experience / knowledge in banking and capital markets activities such as regulatory and financial reporting and analysis, management reporting, transaction processing, cost analysis, risk technology enablement and risk management. • Ability to call upon clients, define their needs and respond with relevant products and services. • Flexibility, initiative, strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, and sound professional judgment. • A demonstrated ability to manage and supervise teams and manage complex projects. • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance, economics or a related field. • An MBA or master’s degree in finance, accounting, or MIS is a plus. • PMI Project Management certification is a plus. Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification a plus.
Ability to travel approximately 50% - 70% is expected.
