The purpose of the Private Equity Product Support Group is to act as the interface between the funds' investment professionals, investors, and external contacts, such as accounting outsource providers, auditors, tax professionals, and third party sellers, etc. for private equity funds. The Private Equity Product Support Group and this position concentrate on supporting all financial reporting for private equity funds. The Product Support Group focuses on adding value by resolving issues and providing product oversight and coordination, rather than the performance of day-to-day operational tasks and controls.  Currently the Group provides this service for three private equity programs consisting of 30 funds, in aggregate, which are private equity fund of funds with direct private equity investments, two programs consisting of three funds which are solely direct private equity investments and two funds that are solely a fund of funds. The Associate will primarily be responsible for certain BlackRock funds that will be structured like a private equity fund with regard to capital calls. The funds' investors are high net worth retail clients and institutional clients, including offshore clients. This Associate position reports directly to a Director/Vice President. Besides this position, the group currently consists of a Director (department head), another Director, an Administrative Assistant, a part time student intern, five other Assistant Vice Presidents/Associates, three Accounting Vice Presidents, a tax specialist (VP) and a Communication Group made up of a VP with 3 additional staff members. Primary Job Responsibilities: Preparation of personalized capital statements; Responsible for monitoring the treasury function (forecasting, budgeting, borrowing, etc.); Interface with clients to answer ad hoc financial and tax questions, as well as resolve miscellaneous issues; Prepare loan compliance reporting; Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and year end audits; Responsible for preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting, including pricing of NAVs. Job Requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred, with at least 5 years related experience; Financial and management reporting experience and partnership accounting experience, a MUST; Partnership tax experience, a plus; Minimum 1 year PRIVATE EQUITY FUND accounting experience strongly preferred; The ability to read, understand and follow complex partnership agreements and offering materials; CPA license (or in process); Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral); Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Knowledge of Microsoft Word; 2-3 years of public accounting experience a plus; Ability to prioritize and juggle workload, strong admin/problem solving skills with attention to detail; Always needs to be aware of deadlines and effectively plan to ensure that all are met; Required to be a self-starter, work independently and require little supervision; Ability to maintain good working relationships with all contacts.
