The Office of Mutual Funds is responsible for monitoring portfolio compliance and calculating and reporting portfolio performance. This group advises the portfolio managers on rules and regulations from the SEC, IRS, and foreign governments. BlackRock’s compliance process involves all operating units of the firm and portfolio administration team members interact with portfolio management, risk management, operations, client service, cash management, and pricing. Our compliance process leverages BlackRock’s highly experienced administrative staff and the leading-edge technology developed by BlackRock Solutions, ensuring a high degree of efficiency and accuracy throughout the process. Primary Job Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with existing mutual fund accounting policies and procedures; Ensure implementation of new accounting regulations; Contribute to annual financial statement preparation and fund audits; Oversee reconciliations between custodians, accounting, and BlackRock; Participate in valuation committee discussions; Compile fund merger and reorganization analyses; Perform dividend projections; Completion of routine daily/weekly/monthly requirements, such as aged income, NAV publication, defaults, etc.; Assess and approve certain invoices and expense/waiver items; Participate in additional projects as needed. Skills and Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience with accounting/financial roles; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to effectively prioritize multiple demands; Strong communication skills; Undergraduate degree preferred.
