ING's Market Risk Management team is looking for an ALM analyst. As an ALM analyst you participate in the management of the interest rate risk and liquidity risk of ING Bank.
Responsibilities:
- detect and understand the market risks that are present in existing and new products that are sold in the Bank's Retail and Wholesale network; - make sure that these risks are adequately hedged and that remaining positions are in line with the risk appetite set by the Board of the bank; - you prepare and participate in the Asset & Liability Committee of the bank; - you develop models to translate retail products (such as savings and mortgages) to financial markets products (interest rate swaps, options, ...); - you discuss with both colleagues from the commercial network and colleagues from financial markets; - through the functional line you report on ALM topics to ING Group Risk Management function; - you have contact with the regulators (CBFA, DNB) in the changing regulatory ALM environment.
Organisational context :
MRM/ALM is part of the Market Risk Department of ING Belgium. The team has the responsability over the market risks that are present in the 'banking books' of the South West Europe regions. MRM/ALM looks after an efficient transfer of risk from within the bank to Financial Markets department, and from Financial Markets to the external markets. The team has therefore both an internal focus (understanding retail & wholesale products) and an external focus (understanding regulatory environment, accounting environment, market constraints etc.).
Knowledge profile :
- university degree with economical orientation, - knowledge of financial instruments (bonds, interest rate derivatives), risks concept, - affinity with financial calculus and understanding of valuation and risks models, - understand a bank's balance sheet and financial markets products accounting (knowledge of IAS and Basle II is a plus), - experience in a financial markets or risk management environment is a plus, - proficient use of office application (programming languages is a plus), - languages : you have a good knowledge of French and Dutch and a good knowledge of English is necessary.
