This firms focus is on large LBOs typically with enterprise values of €500 million and over. Since 2003, they have invested in buyouts with a value in excess of $68 billion globally, of which $16 billion in Europe.
Due to the strong organic growth the team is keen to hire an additional Analyst.
Overview of the role
The successful candidate will be involved in the following aspects of the private equity process:
• Research and analysis (both company and sector) Research and origination will be a key focus. Analysts are required to perform screening, analysis and valuation of sectors and potential investments.
• Execution and structuring of deals The Analyst will work on live transactions. At the core of this role the Analyst will work alongside other team members and external consultants to build the business case for the deal, they will be required to build both operational and LBO models which are at the centre of our decision-making process. Analysts are also involved in all areas of the investment process such as commercial and financial due diligence, articulating the business case via presentations to the investment committee, arranging bank financing, structuring, developing management equity plans, and liaising with M&A, legal, financial and other advisors.
Successful candidates will be given the opportunity to:
• Both originate and execute deals • Build operational and LBO models • Have exposure across a range of financing products and interact in the financing dialogue with leading banks • Participate in the full life cycle of private equity investments, from the initial investment, to monitoring, recapitalization, and exit
Credentials of successful candidates:
• Relevant work experience
The candidate will be ideally a top-ranked Analyst within the investment banking department of a leading financial institution (ideally with exposure to leveraged finance, financial sponsor or M&A transactions)
• Education
Degree from a leading university or equivalent work experience
Overall the candidate must have strong quantitative skills, including the ability to build and run financial models and perform detailed financial analysis. The candidate will also have a good business judgement and be able to critically analyse diverse businesses. Exposure to and knowledge of buyout activity is important, either via experience of advising private equity clients in M&A, of working on leveraged finance transactions, or of performing due diligence exercises.
