Our client is one of the most successful banking groups in the world, and they are now looking to add an Equity Research Associate to their top rated pharma team. The role will focus upon the generation and writing of cutting edge pieces of equity research, identifying value creating opportunities for your hedge fund and institutional clients.
Specific responsibilities would be:
• Financial modelling
• Developing a clear understanding of how the business models and industry dynamics of companies under coverage work.
• Writing detailed and thought provoking research on the companies under coverage with both an eye to the short term view as well as the longer-term drivers of value,
• Dealing with company results. This would typically entail giving a "first glance" opinion, writing an initial post-results comment and talking through the results with the sales desk.
• Liaising with company management to keep abreast of any developments,
• Assisting the team with any ad-hoc work. This is most likely to involve client requests,
• Once established there is potential for significant domestic and overseas marketing of ideas to clients to supplement what will already be a strong client facing franchise,
• Going on any trips organised by the companies and reporting back points of interest.
Qualifications:
You will be one of the following
• Pharma equity research analyst from the sell or buy side
• Business analyst from a pharma company
• ACA, CFA or other consulting professional with a strong pharma (or similar) academic or client background
