Core service offerings include merger & acquisition advisory (sell-side and buy-side representation) and private equity capital raising. Grant Thornton Corporate Finance LLC is looking for a Vice President or very experienced Senior Associate to join its Boston office to take an active role in M&A transaction execution, as well as in supporting key new pitch efforts.
In the last 7 years, the combined corporate finance groups of the member firms of Grant Thornton International have completed a total of 830 M&A transactions with a value of over $15 billion. Grant Thornton Corporate Finance LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Grant Thornton LLP, a $1 billion professional services organization.
Position title: Vice President - Investment Banking
Position responsibilities will include: • Being an integral part of our execution teams from pitch through closing, and managing day-to-day transaction activities. • Independently preparing written materials (e.g., pitch books, confidential information memoranda, industry sector reports, analyses, etc.) to support engagements and marketing efforts. • Conducting in-depth company and industry research supporting specific engagements as well as marketing efforts, including the identification and evaluation of buy and sell targets. • Training and developing staff • Overseeing, managing, and mentoring junior staff on pitches, research projects, and investment banking engagements • Financial modeling, including valuations. • Evaluating new investment banking opportunities. • Preparing and delivering presentations. Skills Minimum candidate qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience at an investment bank or M&A Boutique, including M&A and financing transaction experience. • Superior financial modeling skills. • Strong research, modeling, and business/financial analysis skills. • Demonstrated ability to interact with clients. • Proficiency with financial research tools (e.g. CapitalIQ). • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Strong work ethic and a high level of motivation, commitment, and dedication. • Proactive mindset with an eagerness to learn. • Ability to work independently and support team initiatives across multiple offices. • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, and specifically of Excel and PowerPoint.
