Major Global Bank is looking to hire a VP/Director in Energy Credit for their Houston office. The individual will be responsible for transaction execution, credit analysis and portfolio management. The bank's clients include independent E&P, midstream, and refining companies located in North America.
Job Functions:
1.) Negotiate, execute and close lead agented transactions. 2.)Prepare credit applications, (addressing client credit risk, transaction risk, and legal risk) including new transactions, annual reviews, renewals, temporary extensions, and waivers and amendments for energy portfolio credits. 3.) Attend bank meetings and industry conferences. 4.)Liaise with the Credit/Risk Approval Group on credit-related issues. 5.)Liaise with Business/Transaction Originators for credit and cross-sell facilities, credit and client relationship-related issues. 6.) Liaise with engineers to coordinate engineering reviews. 7.) Management and reporting of client/global exposure. 8.) Covenant compliance monitoring. 9.) Perform ongoing monitoring of client credit quality. 10.) Coordinate credit requests and conduct credit meetings with clients.
Experience and Skills
1.) Minimum 8-15 years combined credit experience in corporate banking / corporate finance / investment banking / capital markets, currently at a VP or Director level. 2.) Experience in leading and closing energy-related financings, particularly in reserve-based lending transactions. 3.) Some international experience desirable and relevant industry contacts amongst energy global and domestic financial players/syndicate partners. 4.) In addition to core credit training and skills, in-depth technical knowledge of the following: i.) corporate level banking transactions ii.) reserve-based lending transactions iii.) corporate finance/project financing transactions iv.) cash flow modeling and acute quantitative analysis skills v.) current in or familiar with global risk management tools/issues 5.) Ability to analyze and evaluate counterparty risk and financial condition based utilizing quantitative and qualitative data. 6.) Proficient in Word and Excel. 7.) Knowledge of bank committed credit facilities, capital markets/traded products. 8.) Knowledge of the accounting, legal and regulatory issues governing relevant sectors. 9.)
