Quantlab is a dynamic, Houston-based, technology-oriented firm engaged in the development and operation of electronic trading systems for its hedge fund trading. Founded in 1998, Quantlab is responsible for a significant share of the daily volume traded in the global markets and represents an established presence in the high frequency electronic trading field.
The firm is seeking an individual to join the night shift trading team of our broker-dealer affiliate in monitoring the execution for multiple trading strategies as well as dealing with issues associated with real-time trading. Our system comprises an automated electronic trading platform, which trades upon major stock exchanges in the U.S. and internationally. We trade continuously 24/7 from Sunday at 6:00 p.m. until Friday at 4:00 p.m. and our night shift teams are: 1) Asian time zone trading from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.; and 2) Europe time zone trading from 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The successful candidate will posses a confident, proactive, decisive mentality and will thrive in this time-critical, often fire-fighting role. Series 3, 7, 63 and 55 licenses are preferred, but not essential. We can provide exam sponsorship for qualified individuals.
REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate degree preferably in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Business. Programming experience in scripts (e.g. Shell, Python) considered a plus. Ability to analyze, calculate and quickly communicate results from statistical data. Calm demeanor while multitasking under pressure is essential. Experience in supporting broker dealer operations preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitoring automated trade execution processes, and identifying system irregularities. Note - this position does not include discretionary trading. Tracking, reporting, analyzing, and forecasting critical factors affecting the various components of order execution. Troubleshooting existing models and assisting researchers in resolving problems related to quantitative trading strategies. Make recommendations regarding new metrics to improve order execution. Work with operations personnel to streamline process between trade and settlement.
