We are seeking a high-energy Business Development Associate (BDA) Manager to be an integral part of the leadership team. This person will coach, develop and manage a team of Business Development Associates that call on financial intermediaries. This newly created position will be located in the Jersey City, NJ Business Center and report to the Head of Sales at the Center. The BDA Manager will work with BDAs that call on the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and with the Private Client Group (PCG) Channels. The PCG primary audience include Advisors in the top five wirehouses and regional and independent banks.
Responsibilities: • Develop the talent and resources of the Business Development Associates (BDAs), monitoring activities and accomplishments to optimize sales efforts • Work closely with the RIA, PCG and Home Office teams to conceive and implement campaigns to support iProducts launches, topical or thematic ideas, investment strategies, and platform developments at the above mentioned firms • Conduct quarterly reviews, personal development coaching and performance assessments. Challenge BDAs to differentiate, innovate and excel • Foster high functioning teamwork across the channels, within Intermediary Investor Business (IIB) sales and throughout the iProducts and BGI community • Oversee BDA reporting of attendance, travel and expenses, and performance evaluations • Bring leadership, energy, creativity and enthusiasm to the team
Qualifications: • BA/BS; Graduate coursework or degree preferable • NASD Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses required; Series 24 preferred • CIMA, CFP, CFA or wealth management certification strongly preferred • 10+ years direct sales experience with a mutual fund, ETF or separate account asset manager and/or as leverage partner internal specialist, branch/sales manager or financial advisor • Demonstrated success and regard as a leader among industry peers and trusted resource to advisors and leverage partners; previous sales management experience preferred • Extensive knowledge of industry trends and home office/national accounts personnel and organization • Diplomacy, graciousness, humility, and intellectual curiosity • High energy, motivation, commitment to excellence • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills • Clean U-4
