Our client is the Private Equity arm of an European Financial Institution. They are seeking suitable candidates for the role of CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER for their recently established funds. (ONLY THOSE WITH PRIVATE EQUITY EXPERIENCE NEED APPLY)
ROLE:
The CFO is required to manage and coordinate the financial reporting, tax planning, treasury and FX operations, and financial risks for funds and fund investments in region. The individual will participate in the development, coordination and implementation of initiatives such as fund raising, budget & strategic planning. Key functions include:
Financial advisory over investment transactions from an operational perspective.
Oversee preparation of statutory, tax and management financial reporting information, and the proper recording of transactions, for the funds and investments.
Investor presentation of fund overall financial performance.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls; liaise with external (fund) auditors regarding financial audit, valuation, and compliance issues.
Manage and monitor ERISA balance. Understand and work with deal officers and external advisors to obtain ERISA clearance on deals.
Review and analyse fund expenses and funds’ cash positions, including the utilisation of facilities and the investment of any surplus cash to minimise cash drag, and the efficient repatriation of cash from fund internal entities.
Provide thorough, proactive analysis and mitigating steps to address critical exposures, including foreign currency, interest rates and insurable risks.
Participate in the development, financial and tax structuring, and documentation of Investments.
Intricate knowledge of debt structuring in support of acquisition and disposition activity. Knowledge of latest debt product from a pricing and structuring perspective in respective investment market. Active involvement in debt documentation, negotiations and refinancing. Strong relationship with a network of banks in Asia.
Ensure that team members are well informed on current and future accounting and tax issues with appropriate analysis on the impact on the respective funds.
Manage members of the Finance and support team in other offices
REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 10 years of financial management or fund finance and accounting experience in one or a number of the following situations:
An investment bank / corporate finance practice with experience in specialised asset financing;
A private equity / hedge fund; or
A ship/marine asset manager
He/she will also have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
He/she will have a solid understanding of financial structures, product control and know how to build the risk framework.
Experience in marine, shipping and ship finance is strongly preferred, but not necessarily a requirement for the position.
Excellent computer skills, especially with excel modelling.
Excellent communication Skills. Strong English fluency (written and spoken). Other Asian languages would be highly regarded.
A CPA or equivalent qualification in accounting is required.
