The Internal Finance Department is responsible for the production and controlling of all areas of financial recording, controlling and reporting for group finance, for the purposes of internal management, corporate and external use.
The Senior Manager will form part of a multi-tasking finance team, providing direction, management and support in the execution and delivery of all statutory, management and client related accounting and reporting requirements across the various business units.
The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, this senior role will form part of the management team. The role will involve managing and driving the full financial compliance, reporting, consulting and analytical requirements of the business, with the effective management of a team of finance controllers and analysts/consultants.
This includes reviewing financial accounts, variance analysis, overhead control and working capital management, forecasting, budgeting and planning.
This position will hold overall responsibility for the effective operation of internal controls across all financial aspects of the business, and will play an important role in supporting the future direction of the financial management of the business, highlighting areas for improvement, profit improvement and enhanced controls.
Integral to the role is the relationship management of multiple partners and customers in the financial chain – such as Group central functions, internal and external auditors, clients, financial institutions and vendors across global markets.
The ability to make and manage the execution of decisions in a multi-discipline team environment is critical to the success of the role.
Examples of specific areas of responsibility which will be managed and owned by this role include: Weekly and monthly reporting on all key metrics that underpin the financial performance of the company, including spend, variances, capacity utilisation, financial KPIs and presentation of results to management and Board level.
Weekly and monthly financial forecasts on operational results and resource management (cash, capital assets) for submission to Group.
As part of the management team, the this role will help drive cost saving/operational efficiency projects This role will be a key driver in the Capital Investment planning and justification process within the company ensuring project evaluation, pricing proposals and review processes are rigorously followed.
Provide strategic financial support to the business owners to help drive business initiatives, while ensuring all financial deliverables are met.
The Senior Manager – Internal Finance will act in a consultative manner to the new business development team to assist in driving the strategy and supporting new business projects with strategic financial support and direction.
While this role is based out of our Head Office in Dublin, there may be some requirement to travel abroad in line with the normal business requirements of operating as part of an international multi-location Group.
Skills and Experience:
Candidates must have a professional accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA equivalent) and preferably hold a degree in a business/finance discipline Minimum 5 years experience operating at a senior finance position in a similar or related business environment
Strong business acumen, with proven success in delivering results in an environment of multiple demand and shifting priorities
Strong leadership and communication skills with proven ability to gain commitment at the most senior level in an organization and across diverse stakeholder groups
Ability to think at a strategic level and provide added-value at management level
To work independently and make and implement decisions as required Ability to manage competing priorities and demonstrate initiative, with experience of senior level negotiation on financial and business issues Ability to demonstrate financial and accounting knowledge, analytical skills and sound business judgement with excellent attention to detail
Ability to cope with ambiguity and change and maintain high level of professionalism when working under pressure
As expected for a senior level position, flexibility around the needs of the business as required Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills within a multi-cultural business environment
A professional level of both verbal and written English communication is essential for the credibility of this role
Previous experience of operating in an SAP environment would be an advantage
