Position Summary:
Responsible for the development, enhancement and maintenance of state-of-the-art client/server, WEB based and end user reporting applications. Provides technical leadership to less senior staff members. Duties cover Client Server and WEB application and can include end user ad hoc reporting. Responsibilities include gathering system requirements, systems design, programming, testing and troubleshooting using Client Server and WEB based tools in a Windows environment. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the investment management field, preferably with an emphasis on fixed income. In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be a strong team player.
Primary Responsibilities:
Gathering system requirements.
System design.
Coding, testing and de-bugging programs
Maintenance and support (including after hours) for production applications.
Define, develop, test and implement reports, queries and file extracts (Optional).
Prepare system documentation as appropriate.
Provide technical leadership and direction to less senior staff members.
Prepare and execute project plans as appropriate.
Other related responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Five years experience with VB/.net/SQL Server.
Working knowledge of MS Office suite of tools and SQL.
Working knowledge of system development methodologies.
Strong attention to detail; requires accuracy with numerical calculations.
Strong analytical skills.
Experience with Cognos tools preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Business or financial background preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to multi-task; ability to lead.
