This position requires a thorough knowledge of ERISA regulations and Form 5500, as well as excellent people-management skills. The chief responsibilities of the position are to manage teams of compliance consultants and administrators who provide compliance services to our Institutional Retirement Plan Services (IRPS) clients. Acting as a senior liaison to external clients, internal clients, and other Vanguard departments, you'll communicate and promote the services provided by the department. You'll assign clients appropriately and oversee the initiation of services for new clients. As clients are assigned, you'll manage the delivery of compliance services within established timeframes. Using your expertise, you'll identify and resolve complex nondiscrimination, compliance, and reporting issues that develop with client plans. You'll ensure that compliance services are delivered according to department policies and procedures for quality, accuracy, and consistency. You'll drive the development of new ways to deliver services more efficiently and support initiatives for the redesign of compliance processes. In your role as manager, you'll perform all HR-related functions, including recruiting, hiring, coaching, training and development, setting standards, and evaluating performance. You'll actively promote a team environment by motivating and encouraging your direct reports. You'll also assist with department planning, resource allocation and budget forecasts. Position Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience. - Minimum of five years of compliance experience, including nondiscrimination testing and Form 5500 reporting. - Experience with and knowledge of regulatory research and inquiries, competitor - compliance services, competitor defined-contribution services, recordkeeping databases, compliance/nondiscrimination testing tools, and Form 5500 preparation software. - Technical knowledge and technology/data skills focused on compliance and reporting required by ERISA under Title 1 regulations. - Ability to apply technical knowledge to resolving regulatory issues. - Demonstrated analytical/problem solving skills. - Demonstrated ability to manage people and projects. - Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues related to compliance testing and Form 5500 to a variety of audiences. - Ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
