You will oversee and participate in the daily production of Liquidity Reporting ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the data, commentary and publication.
You will ensure that all relevant management MI is produced and published for ALCO, Risk Committee and other senior management fora. You will be actively involved in the growth of the bank’s liquidity framework including system development.
You will ensure that best practice is carried out at all times and provide input so that the Liquidity risk policy and mandates accurately reflect the appetite of the organisation and best practice.
You will also undertake various responsibilities which will span the Trading, Corporate and Retail bank’s liquidity requirements.
You will be responsible for overseeing and producing analysis of the liquidity position of the bank. This will involve having a detailed understanding of the liquidity issues of all areas of the Group in particular those affecting the trading and retail businesses. The analysis you provide will help determine actions to manage the liquidity position of the bank. Other responsibilities include:
- Ensure a junior team member is appropriately trained and capable of full daily, weekly and monthly reporting and management information collation.
- Day to day liaison with funding desks and treasurer’s team resolving any mandate/reporting issues and discussing future funding requirements.
- Take a lead role in raising and resolving all wholesale and retail Liquidity issues.
- Development of measurement methodology.
- Liaison with Parent company as required providing explanation and commentary on Liquidity reports and analysis.
- Limit monitoring and escalation.
Recommend changes to and support on:
- Liquidity issues for corporate and retail banking products.
- Liquidity risk framework developments in line with industry standard and regulatory and supervisory body requirements.
- The bank's liquidity risk policy compliance with the group’s appetite.
- Policy and mandate changes ensuring all relevant areas are represented as sign offs.
CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
- The drive to develop their understanding of liquidity issues of all areas of the Group.
- The motivation to improve the reporting and analysis of an area that will come under increased regulator and internal scrutiny.
- Desire to add value through knowledge of liquidity risk management.
- At least 2 years experience of Liquidity Risk Management in a Banking Environment
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a Bank – preferably in Risk Management / ALM
- Good knowledge of Excel and Visual Basic.
- Highly numerate background.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- A mature and logical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to deliver in a fast-paced, outcome focused environment from day one.
- A keen interest in financial markets.
