The Director of Structured Finance will supervise a team of analysts in the reverse engineering, modeling and data collection of a deal library of structured transactions, including residential mortgage backed, asset backed and commercial mortgage backed securities. Manage the on-going activities involved with the collection efforts of Structured Finance information and documents. Ensure the creation and publication of daily, weekly and monthly time sensitive financial data. Serve as key resource for providing and dispensing information about the Structured Finance industry and securitization.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the day to day modeling activities of analysts and reverse engineers. This includes organizing, distributing and following up on:
Data Collection
Data Modeling
Data Auditing
Reverse Engineering Functions
Deal Log database
Special Projects
Create documentation, specifications and training materials of core processes as it relates to modeling and maintaining structured bonds.
Collaborate with programmers to update and enhance reverse engineering software.
Conduct research on structures, concepts and trends of new and emerging bond types within Structured Finance arena.
Serve as a resource for providing expert consulting on CMO and ABS issues to team and others within the organization.
Qualifications:
Proven ability to manage, improve workflow processes; resolve bottlenecks and design QA.
At least 3-5 years management and modeling/reversing structured bonds experience.
Experience managing the collection and publication of time-sensitive financial information.
Sound interpersonal and motivational skills.
Aptitude for instruction and mentoring.
Thorough knowledge of the securitization industry and structured transactions, including:
Mortgage-backed securities: CMO/REMIC, Re-REMICs
Asset-backed securities: Home Equity Loans, Credit Cards, Automobiles, Lease, Equipment and Student Loans
CMBS
Advanced analytical skills in research and security analysis; demonstrated problem solving.
Keen attention to detail, with the ability to understand complex material.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access).
Proficient with command-line utilities, MS command prompt and batch language.
Advanced relational database skills, including using SQL to create tables and queries.
Good understanding of programming concepts. Light programming and scripting experience, a plus.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Undergraduate degree required, preferably Math, Finance, Economics or a Science.
