BlueNext is the international exchange for the environment; operating in the markets for carbon emission allowances and credits. As the European leader in the CO2 spot market, BlueNext aims to be a world leader for trading in environment-related instruments and will be pursuing this goal with the international deployment of a comprehensive range of products and services, whilst consolidating its user base across both financial and industrial sectors.
As a joint venture of the NYSE Euronext and Caisse des Dépôts, BlueNext benefits from the international reach of NYSE Euronext and its know-how in market operation, combined with the acknowledged expertise of Caisse des Dépôts in carbon financing, in particular as regard technology for the administration of allowances and registries.
One of the key drivers of the BlueNext growth plan is the development of new Environmental products and services for their membership to trade on the exchange. With the expected expansion of the EUETS, and the development of environmental markets a key feature of the post-Kyoto talks, the need to have more sophisticated structured products and services becomes increasingly important.
As an experienced structurer or product developer within a trading institution or exchange this candidate will be excited at the prospect of maintaining a close overview of the environmental finance sector to see where opportunities for innovative products and services lie. With the chance to work within a new and growing market, this influential role within BlueNext will provide an opening to liaise with clients and exchange members and help to build a growing business in this dynamic space.
