Job Justification:

The current resource level within the Fixed Income Investment IT team is inadequate to support the application development requirements of the business. It is therefore intended to add analyst developer resource to build the team.

Job Summary:

The major investment exposure and risk reporting application in Fixed Income requires a significant overhaul. This includes increasing report functionality, extending data provision and ensuring old code is replaced under a new framework.

Close co-ordination with the other investment developers (Equity & Multi Asset) is expected to ensure all common data is utilised effectively. Development is required on a RAD / Agile basis with fast and accurate delivery expected by the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• This is a development focussed role with elements of structured analysis required.
• To undertake development / implementation of ongoing and new initiatives within the Fixed Income division (Risk & Exposure Reporting /Analytics Provision / Performance Attribution / implementation of Third Party Risk applications).
• To liaise closely with other FI developers, analysts and Fund Managers / Assistants.

Person Profile:

• Have a demonstrable track record of working within a middle office / front office environment within an Investment Bank / Financial Services environment on a strategic front / middle office system (5+ years)
• Exposure to any capital market products (fixed income, equities, derivatives)
• Strong technical knowledge of primarily Microsoft technologies
• Inter-personal skills; tact, patience, courtesy, good listening skills
• Strong self-organisation, time management and prioritisation skills

Competencies:

• Experience of SQL 2005 / Reporting Services / SSIS
• AJAX, C#, VB .net, VB, VBA Programming
• ASP and ASP.Net
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to operate under pressure and deliver to demanding deadlines
• Ability to deal credibly with business and technical users at all levels of the organisation
