Position Description: Morgan Stanley Investment Management (“MSIM”) is one of the largest asset managers in the world. It offers a wide range of products and services, including a large family of domestic and international bond, equity and multi-asset class funds for individual and institutional investors.
The Global Risk Analysis Group of Morgan Stanley Investment Management is looking to fill a Vice President level position, based in New York, in the fixed income team. The position reports to the head of fixed income risk analysis. This group is responsible for the analysis and risk management of MSIM's range of fixed income products globally.
The candidate will: - Provide analysis of risk exposures to a variety of users - portfolio managers, MSIM senior management, risk management committee (MSIM and MS), mutual fund boards and investor clients. - Work closely with colleagues in the risk management quant team, operations and in IT to enhance, expand and automate the production of effective risk analysis and monitoring capabilities. - Be a team player with the ability to work effectively with colleagues to deliver state of the art analytics in a timely and efficient manor for maximum impact on the organization.
Skills Required: - 5 years work experience in the financial services industry, some of which will have been spent in fixed income investing, trading , or risk management and with strong, broad knowledge of fixed income markets and analytics. - In depth knowledge of fixed income securities, with as many of the following as possible: high grade instruments, mortgage backed, asset backed, structured credit, high yield, municipals, money markets, emerging markets, senior loans, convertibles. - An advanced degree in a technical field such as Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research. - Strong communication skills. - Familiarity with applications such as Lehman Point, Yieldbook, Intex, Andrew Davidson.
