Purpose of position:
To help the various businesses of our client to define, clarify and implement their strategy to ensure continued growth and profitability.
Dimensions:
•You will report directly to the Head of Strategy & Planning •You will be responsible for managing a small team of analysts •You will have direct access to the most senior people in the organisation •You will have the opportunity to present to the main board in due course
Key Outputs:
•You will be able to show with clear proof why certain proposals should be accepted •You will update various business lines as to your progress at all times, understanding their apprehension to change and desire to protect their own territory. •You will ensure that your initiatives are measurable and stay within the guidance given by the Head of Strategy.
Authorisation & Limitations:
•Works under the direction of Head of Strategy & Planning. •You will be responsible for the high quality standards of analysis provided by the Strategy & Planning Analysts.
Job Challenges & Problem Solving:
•Understand how the changes proposed will affect the clients • You will work under significant time pressure and be responsible managing conflicting interests •Not only will you assign work to your own staff but you will be responsible for convincing other colleagues to part with their resources for certain projects. •You will need to be comfortable working in an eve changing environment
Qualifications/Experience:
Essential
•You will have developed and delivered complex strategy initiatives previously. •You will have managed others on projects •You will have experience of liaising with the most senior people in business and the confidence to be credible in front of them. •You will have academic excellence and well as highly developed problem solving skills •Experience of dealing with Financial Services clients
Desirable
•Experience of having worked for a major strategy consultancy •Good experience of business planning and prioritisation. •Understanding and exposure to programme/project/change management methodologies and working practices.
