New York fund manager looking for a CMBS underwriting and surveillance analyst
POSITION OVERVEW: The candidate will assume the role of an Analyst/Senior Analyst in an entrepreneurial investment management firm working with a variety of real estate related fixed-income products. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Perform asset and deal level underwriting of commercial mortgage based securities. - Assist with asset management responsibilities and surveillance of current portfolios. - Perform competitive market analysis for all major property types and monitor market trends. - Identify potential risks through review of property and market level information. - Present credit opinion to senior underwriting committee.
The candidate will be an integral part of the surveillance team and will work alongside Senior Analysts and Portfolio Managers directly involved in the investment decision making process.
QUALIFICATIONS: Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, real estate, or a related degree is required. The candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, have strong quantitative and analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a willingness to work as a part of a team. A working understanding of Excel is required.
