The role is at Senior Manager level working within the Investment Risk Group (IRG) of an international fund of hedge funds. The IRG play a key role in identifying risks and supporting senior management's investment decisions within this $5 billion fund of hedge funds.
The Hedge Fund group invests in an array of hedge fund strategies and employs sophisticated risk management techniques to be a leader in fund of hedge fund risk analysis.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for integrity and flow of data from back office through to reporting level * Identification and monitoring of risks across an array of hedge fund strategies * Provide reports and communicate risk issues to senior strategists and Head of Risk * Develop tools and techniques to help us better understand the risks inherent within our hedge fund investments
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong academic background. Hold a quantitative degree (financial emphasis would be preferable), ideally to post graduate level from a reputable institute. A recognised professional qualification e.g. MBA, CFA would be an advantage * At least 5 years post qualification experience. Previous independent risk measurement experience within an investment house, hedge fund or proprietary trading desk an advantage * Familiarity with hedge fund strategies and good working knowledge of products commonly traded by hedge funds * Sound knowledge of derivatives pricing and risk management methodologies (e.g. VaR, multifactor models) and experience in building risk models * A self starter, personable with good communications skills
