Trading Firm seeks a Sr. Software Engineer for Transaction Services to be part of a challenging, entrepreneurial, and creative organization. This is a unique, hands-on, team-based organization, which encourages individual leadership and ownership. The team develops order handling and risk management systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience developing Windows based server-side software using object oriented techniques • Strong problem-solving skills with a specific aptitude for rapidly identifying and resolving issues. • Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 or 2005 • Experience using C# with .NET 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5 within the past 6 months. • Experience developing multi-threaded server applications that meet demanding performance and latency constraints • Experience using profiling tools and techniques to optimize program flow and resource utilization • Excellent grasp of software engineering principles including development and release lifecycle processes • Disciplined use of a source control system (Subversion, CVS, Perforce) • Strong sense of teamwork with excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Experience working with N-tier architectures. • Experience with .NET Remoting and / or WCF • Modeling and communicating designs with UML (structural adn behavioral modeling are required)
Desired Qualifications:
• 8+ years of software development experience • Experience with trading or financial software, ideally equities trading, FIX messaging protocol, etc • Strong understanding of multi-threaded application development and effective use of multi-core technology • Experience in architectural design concepts and system design • Meaningful experience with SQL database (ideally MSSQL Server) concepts and usage, as well as database design (structure, views, stored procedures, etc) • Experience with IP-multicast • Experience with middleware messaging solutions (e.g. LBM, TIBCO, MQ, etc)
