Apart from line BUCs, the analysts in the team deal with most functions within the bank, including - The front office (traders, quants, trading assistants)
- Other control functions (market risk, quantitative risk, credit risk, collateral management)
- IT (front office IT, desk developers, finance IT, support functions)
- Operations (settlements, confirmations)
Both businesses are dynamic and fast-moving, resulting in significant portfolio of front office and finance driven change work. As a result the opportunities within the team are extremely varied, and include: - Analysing changes in valuation methodologies with desk quants, traders and MRC/QRC control functions
- Analysing business requirements for new products, ranging from front-to-back IT infrastructure to business process changes.
- Supporting other desk-sponsored changes to the risk management systems
- Championing BUC requirements across the full spectrum of front office IT change programmes, both tactical and strategic.
- Being responsible for delivering process change to BUC, not just system change.
- Supporting significant business restructuring, for example transitioning between platforms and restructuring across regions.
Your Job will be to manage the delivery of change in the Structured Products BUC environment. This includes products from the more linear interest rate options through to complex multi product basket trades, across an Interest Rate and Commodity environment. Working very closely with the BUC line you will be responsible for the deliver of change in partnership with other stakeholders, communicating freely with both BUC line and CTB management and following established design frameworks. As mentioned above the type of work within the team is very diverse and as a result your role will involve moving from project to project at rapid pace, working on more than one project at once regularly. The role requires that you have the aptitude and presence of mind to communicate design or testing deficiencies where appropriate as soon as possible, here the appropriate level of support will be provided. The type of projects that you will be exposed to can range from 1 -2 week implementations through to 6 -18 months strategic solutions. On each type of project the role requires that the change be reached without compromising operational risk, and highlighting the changes to the environment following the release. The role provides exposure to the full project lifecycle from a BUC viewpoint, including involvement and ownership of project initiation phases (definition, prioritisation and cost/benefit analysis), requirements gathering and testing (UAT, risk assessment and defect management) and deployment (training, impact assessment).
